Project List User Guide
Browse our Volunteer Project List to find the project/s of your choice!
To search for projects:
- Select a date range.
- Select a country where you would like to find a project. You have the option of searching multiple countries at the same time by using your control or shift key.
- Optional - Click on one or more type of work to narrow your search.
- Optional- Click on the type of project you are looking for. You have the option of searching multiple types of project at the same time by using your control or shift key.
- When you click the 'search" button, an output appears from your selected parameters, probably listing multiple projects. Click the Project Name to access an overview of a specific project.
- When a project name is clicked, another window will appear with the following headings:
- Overview - Please note the Project Code, which must be inserted on your Registration Form exactly as it appears. Links at the bottom have icons that, when clicked, will bring you to local weather, recommended vaccination/s, a money converter and Wikipedia information on the country selected. Note the cost of the project including any 'extra' fee payable on arrival which is in addition to VFP's Registration fee. These extra fees are typical in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the developing world in general. They are required because the sole source of funding for their projects is money provided by incoming foreign volunteers, as they have no access to government or public funding for their organization.
- Full Description - Click this button to view the project details which include - information on the local project host, the work, accomodation and food, location and leisure activity and any special requirements such as language or any special skills needed for the project.
- Photo - This will show you any photo/s available for the project.
- Organization - Any background information on VFP's partner organization abroad may be here. If provided, it is important that you read this file so you get a clear understanding of the mission, requirements and concerns of our partners. The projects are entirely organized and managed by them!
- Map - Links to maps of the project location, if available
- If you click on the small wheelbarrow to the left of the Project Code it will save that project in your shopping cart. Feel free to select as many projects as you are interested, you will narrow your selection next.
- Register for a project! In the upper right corner of your screen you will see "Total Projects in My Selections". Once you have selected one or more projects you are interested in you can click "See the List" and from there "Open Registration Form". For specific instructions on registering for a project, please visit our How to Register page!
