“In the summer of 2008 I found myself on the border of Spain in Aldeia de Sao Sebastiao, Portugal. My lodgings were comfortable, the food was amazing, but I was most influenced by the people who surrounded me. The other student volunteers and I woke up every morning to paint and do work on the community center of the village, along with the help of the Portuguese children.
