In 2005, VFP volunteer, Coleen MacPherson participated in the Ganga Road Traveling project in India. This project focused on traveling along the path of the River Ganges. Volunteers documented, researched, promoted awareness of and taught the local communities about environmental protection of the river. "The road trip was an incredible experience.I made connections with people from all over the world, gained experience in public speaking, practiced my French, and explored a country that is deeply part of me.I felt as though this trip has transformed me as an individual, but ultimately it was the change that we did that has made me whole and confident that anything, really, is truly possible".
