P: The camp is situated in the suburban part of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyy. This town has rich history and a lot of places to see. It is situated on the banks of one of the most beautiful rivers in Ukraine - the Dnieper, 100 km to the south-east of Kyiv – the capital of Ukraine. There are 17 museums and 7 magnificent parks, so volunteers will enjoy this place. W: We continue the 10 year project, repairing the historic objects and cultural monuments, participating in the work on the territory of the historic and cultural recreation area in Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyy. Volunteers will help the workers of the Museum of Ukrainian Folk Architecture through different activities to restore the museum exhibits and to clean the territory of the museum.

A: the Museum in the old house named “korchma” built in XIX century. The volunteers will cook breakfast and dinner by themselves and a hot lunch will be provided. Very simple facilities: open air toilet 100 years old and open-air helio-shower, but atmosphere is very nice! P: Lviv youth centre. This project will take place at Yosypovychy village, Orphanage, Lviv region. In this small orphan house live about 20 social orphans from 2 to 10 years old. Volunteers help needed to provide renehwal and  territory maintenance, to make the school and surrounding garden nicer. And hence to make the children who live there almost all year round little happier. W: Volunteers will work in the orphanage premises  and on its territory, windows, doors and wall painting, gardening, other improvements which can make the place nice.  R:  No special skills needed.   Those who are not indifferent to living conditions of homeless children are very  welcome.  A: Orphanage premises. In difficult of access areas of the Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains, at the height of 800-1100 meters above a sea level in the valley of the river Borzhava, the primeval beech forests locate. They formed through ages without interference of a man. This plot of  primeval forests is the exclusive remained in Europe.  This year camp will be aimed on preparation of this absolute unique aria to become an ecology studying place. It is planed to create here the ecotourism route for nature preservation education, for forming ecological culture of people. The project is organized in partnership with Lviv State Forestry Engineering University, which is carrying out a research of these primeval beech forests and Svalyava forestry. W: landscape studies, detection and marking of interesting objects and sightseeing views, marking, route maps drawing, footpaths cleaning and strengthening, working up the variants of bridges cross streams and waterlogged places, some other conservation and research work. R:No special skills needed. The forestry students/graduates  or familiar with this topic are very welcome as well as all indifferent to environment, wishing to mix with wild nature. A: In tents or in the forest-guard wooden house in bad weather. Washing and cooking facilities are basic and provided outside. The convinces are relative- “natural”. P: Ukraine is the country of Europe with the highest rate of HIV infection spreading. With this workcamp we continue the work we started in 2002. The feedback we got last time inspired us to make a similar camp this year. Many teenagers in Ukraine are attending camps in summer. We want the volunteers – people of approximately same age – to explain the danger of AIDS to them, as well as raise awareness about ways of prevention of getting HIV infected.W: The volunteers will be visiting the summer camps of the Crimea – one or two a day. There they will carry out work on raising awareness of the teenagers by performing a play, prepared by professional stage director. Thus to be expected from volunteers to perform on stage.This moving camp will first start with preparation activities. The volunteers will arrive in Kyiv for 3-4 days. Here, with the help of the AIDS experts, they will work out the plan of actions – inventing the types of events they can carry out: games, competitions, performances,After that the volunteers will go to the Crimea, and visit about 6-8 summer camps. Summer with English (4 int + 12 local) Project partner: Regional Youth Centre of European Cooperation “Planet XXI”. P: Sports summer center “Boyko school” is situated in a picturesque place 30 km from Kharkiv, eastern part of Ukraine. The Center was founded in 1987 on the territory of the former duke’s estate. On the territory of the Center there is a pond with a lot of fish – so you can go fishing there. There also are stables with 12 horses, a riding school for children. The camp hosts about 200 children at a time. W: Every volunteer together with two Ukrainian leaders will take care of 15-20 teenagers. The main task of the volunteers will be to help in organising everyday life of the camp and leisure time activities, such as workshops, sport competitions, contests, activities connected with culture, history, traditions of the volunteers’ countries. The volunteers will also assist teachers to teach English in the course of lessons. We expect from volunteers new ideas and enthusiasm in organising children’s leisure time to make it meaningful and useful. Every volunteer must be ready to help children in organising the Day of Culture of the volunteer’s country (national games, songs, dances, recipes of the national food – should be easy to cook!). Project partner: International NGO “Volynske bratstvo” P: The project will be settled on the basis of the Shatsk National Park, in the North-Western part of Ukraine, next to the boarder with Poland and Belarus.  The park square is almost 49000 ha.  There are 24 lakes at the territory of the park, the most famous and big one is Svityaz’, its square is 2600 ha, and it is 58,4 metres deep.  It is a picturesque place near to the Shatsk Lake. The lake is also famous of its clear water. It is possible to see the bottom even when you dive at 8 metres.

W: There are many tourist places around the lake, that is why many thousands people come to this place every year. The volunteers will be cleaning the territory of the park, near to the Svityaz’ lake from the rubbish and fallen trees. A: in bungalow, 50 metres far from the lake. Shower and washing facilities will be organized in the base. Food will be provided in the base canteen. Leisure time: swimming, sport, disco, romantic nights with new friends under starry sky are possible on the everyday basis. Excursions around Volyn’ region will be orginised. Project partner: Charity Association for people with learning, emotional and behavioural disabilities P: Djerela” was founded in 1994. Its mission is to develop and fulfill separate actions, projects and programs designed to protect human rights of people with learning, emotional and behavioral disabilities as well as their families, provide their rehabilitation and social adaptation; to focus public attention on the  problems of above mentioned people. ”Djerela’s” main activities include program of early intervention; respite care and fostering programs; family support services (psychological and juridical consulting); integrated education, etc.

In 2003 Djerela got 2 old buildings which are to be renovated from the state. These buildings will be mini-hostel and day-center. This projects are the first projects of this kind in Ukraine. W: Volunteers will be working on maintenance of two building and surrounding area (sometimes work will be physically hard). P: Lviv regional youth labour centre.  The camp will be located in Bus’k. This is an ancient town recently celebrated its 1500 anniversary. The town of Bus’k - the regional centre, located 50 km north east from Lvov (Lviv) on right bank of the Western Bug river. The population is 8500 persons. Many small rivers cross Bus’k  and divide it into parts. Not so long time ago the connections of city centre with suburbs were, mostly, through artificial dams and 68 greater or smaller bridges. During flooding the population used boats. Through this city quite often was named "Galytska Venice".

The symbol of the town is a stork ( the word BUS’KA in Ukrainian means STORK).

The camp will take place at historical & architectural complex which includes the Earl Badeni Castle (18th cent.) and a park-memorial of landscape architecture with age-old trees around it. This is a place of national heritage which requires the volunteers help, because unfortunately the very poor town budget is not able to maintain it.  W: all work will be on park territory improvements: maintenance of small bridges, painting at children playground, bushes cutting, footpath clearance.  S&R: will include tours to historical places, including Lviv (Lvov, Lwow)- the pearl of Ukraine, castles, beautiful landscapes near by. P: Lviv regional youth labour centre, Lviv Institute of Architecture.  The camp will be located in Pidgirtsi village, 75 km east from Lviv. This village is widely famous by it unique and outstanding in it beauty castle – one of the most beautiful in Ukraine.

Pidhirtsi Castle is a unique architectural monument three- store palace and a fortress in the late Renaissance style dating to 1635-1640. It belonged to the aristocratic family, was not intended as a defense structure and should be more accurately called a palace. Pidhirtsi Castle is surrounded by a moat and includes a Baroque church of St. Joseph (1752-1766). It has a wall with a heavy gate and a park with old trees. Pidhirtsi Castle has been under restoration after years when it was used as a Soviet hospital. It may take many years before it regains it pervious glory. This palace is included in so called "Golden Horseshoe Castles" of Ukraine, as the group of most famous. Fortresses are located in a sort of an arc stretching east and southeast of Lviv. The castles in Olesko, Svyrzh and Zolochiv are the best preserved ones.  Last few years the students and young scientists carry out the research works on the territory of the palace, doing the measurements of different parts of the palace, outside and inside, of architectural items in the palace park zone. International volunteers are invited to joint the research group for inventory taking of particular memorials on the palace territory and at historical cemetery. Belz is a small ancient town in modern Lviv region of Ukraine about 35 miles (60 km) north of Lviv, on the Ukrainian/Polish frontier. It has 2,400 inhabitants. The town has existed since at least the 10th century. This year Belz celebrates it 1000th anniversary.

Belz, probably best known for its mention in the Yiddish classic song “Mein Shtetele Belz,” was once a thriving Jewish community that in the 19th century became the birthplace of the Belz Chasidic movement. Belz has got a status of the State Historical Cultural reserve.  There are more then 50 architectural memorials in Belz, most of them are on national significance. There are castle ruins (of 11-13 cent), Dominican abbey (14th cent) and others. The project on heritage renascence  start running from 2004. Project: Kharkiv is the second largest city in Ukraine and its first capital. It can truly be named a Ukrainian megapolis. It’s situated in North-East of Ukraine in the confluence of three rivers. Its population is 147000 people. It’s one of the biggest scientific and cultural centers. Kharkiv is the city of student’s and has 80 higher educational establishments. The city is famous for its great traditions and extraordinary historical past. In 2004 Kharkiv celebrated its 350th anniversary. One of the most important points if interest in Kharkiv is a city Zoo which is located in the center of the city in the park area. In 2005 Kharkiv Zoo celebrated its 110th anniversary. W: Within the Zoo, there is a young naturalists` society which will celebrate this year its 80th anniversary since it was founded in 1925. Kharkiv young naturalists` society was one of the first created in the world. During the years many youngsters who followed this naturalists` school became outstanding specialists in biology. But unfortunately, the building of the naturalists` society burnt. This year a project of reconstruction was offered and while laying the foundation a symbolic stone and a message to further generations were placed. The group of volunteers will help in some construction and cleaning works.

Project partner: Lviv regional youth labour centre.P: The project will be in Belz, a town located 70 km from Lviv, near to the boarder with Poland.  The city is well known due to its cultural and historical places, such as ruins Dominicans Monastery, a Tower, which was build in 1606, and very famous Icon of Mother God. The city withstood numerous Tatar assaults. During the Second World War the Monastery was destroyed. These very ruins were witnesses of many important historical events that influenced the history and faith of Ukraine. Close to the museum there is art school for children with many pictures of children and local artists, and other exhibits illustrating history and culture of south-eastern Ukraine. During the project it is planned to conduct some renovation of exhibition halls, make resting place in Ukrainian style at the territory of museum, and prepare information flyer aimed to promote this place. W: tiding up territory of the museum, repairing woven fence made according to Ukrainian traditions, basic renovation (painting), making wooden table and benches for resting place at the territory of the museum, preparing information flyer about the museum. P: The Centre of rehabilitation ROMASHKA (Daisy) which is organized and run by Charity NGO DOVIRA welcomes mentally handicapped young people, mainly with Down Syndrome and autism. Centre offers everyday activities for young people including education and leisure time, provides an individual support in collaboration with the families. Despite of relatively severe mental problems this young people have very active life attitude. They take part in Ukrainian and international actions, in Olympic Games for disabled and even have champions - in NAGANO one of boy with DOWN Syndrome won golden medal. During the summers holidays there will run a couple of art workshops, trips in city and to the Carpathians for herbs collecting. Volunteers help needed to accompany disabled in the trip, to help them in planned activities, to organise the leisure time (excursions, walks, games, parties, etc.) W: Support and animation of mentally disabled youngsters (16 to 25 years old) of the centre., joint useful  and creative tasks, such as territory and garden improvements, art workshops, etc. The activities will be simple and more attention should be paid to the relation with the handicapped person. The types of handicap will bring the volunteers  to different types of communication: non-verbal, physical contact, play of glance, etc. The volunteers won't take care of the sanitary aspect of the residents. X: The volunteers must be creative, imaginative and curious of discovering the world of the handicapped persons. It would be very nice if volunteers could learn at least a couple (20-50) of  simple words in Russian or Ukrainian (like Yes, No, Thank you, Please, Give, Take, etc). Come with ideas and games! Forest’s friends P: The region of Dnipropetrovs’k is one of the most developed in Ukraine. It has favorable geographic location, is reach in natural resources, and has a high industrial and scientific potential, highly developed agriculture, good transportation and communications systems. Dnipropetrovs’k is one of the largest and most beautiful cities of Ukraine. It is situated on the Dnieper River and has 1.5 million inhabitants; it was founded by the Russian empress Ekaterina II. It was the place where the first European democratic republic emerged – Zaporiz’ka Sich (Cossacks republic). The Dnipropetrovs’k region has rich flora and fauna – there are 114 natural preserves here. The project will be implemented jointly with the Scout organization “PLAST” in the Dnieper-Orels’k Preserve. It is located in one of the most picturesque places in the region 20 km away from Dnipropetrovs’k on the Orel’ river. This preserve is a jewel of nature. Nowadays it is an island of basically wild nature. There are many rare species of animals and plants in the preserve and there you can fully integrate with nature. W: there is a forest outpost on the territory of a forestry, which is intended for the protection of a wood from poachers, fires, for the control over a population of animal and vegetative fund. On the territory of the forest outpost there is a forester’s small house, which now needs repairing. Crimean Adventure Camp P: will be settled on the basis of the mountains lodge small house used for hikers caught by bad weather in winter time of the year and by CAW project in summer where will be established base-camp (760 m. above sea level) with the pictorial views near popular sea resort of Alushta on the slope of the m. Chatirdag. (15 min. by regular bus to sea shore in Alushta, 30 min. from the famous tourist-city of Yalta and 2 h. from historical city of Sebastopol with ancient historical ruined town of Khersones). The main objectives of the camp are: (1) To clean hiking paths and renew route marking in mountains, (2) to do some maintaining and hand-craft decorating of the base-camp lodge, (3) to grow awareness of local hikers of environment saving methods and behavior and to grow culture of ecological hiking, (4) to continue cooperation with local authorities on preserving natural areas from pollution.W: In first three days of first week the group will be working in two teams. These two teams will shift the duties one to another daily. Work of both groups will be synchronized with the common project' events, evaluation, free time and weekends both teams will be able to do together. The Lodge Renovating Group will whitewash ceiling, paint some walls, repair furniture, use handcraft for decorating the house inside, and prepare labels for establishing on hiking-paths. This group also will take care for lodge keeping – collecting woods for fireplace, cooking and some other responsibilities necessary in the base camp. The Ecological Hiking Group will deal with cleaning hiking paths and outdoor camping places in mountains from rubbish and pieces of fallen trees renew markers for hiking paths around slopes of m. Chatirdag. At the second part of the first week both teams will go on hiking together. They will clean some camping places on hiking routes and establish information signs. After the weekend the group will do some cleaning on their radial hikes at the lodge area.A: in tents. Shower, cooking and washing facilities will be organized in the base-camp. Cooking will be organised on basis of kitchen-brigades by volunteers. The Ecological Hiking Group in mountains will cook on a campfire themselves and live in simple hiking conditions.Leisure time: The project follows some important aims and expectations. At the same time it's fun itself :) . Romantic nights with new friends under starry sky and visiting places with greatest views in Crimea will be an open option for each participant of Crimean Adventure Workcamp. Different leisure options for weekends, like sightseeing in Yalta resort, Bahchisaray or some other places of their interest, visiting ancient heruvimes cave's city Chuphut-Kale are available. You will also have a possibility to snorkel or to dive in the Black Sea or to make a weekend trip to Sebastopol and to ruins of Khersones ancient town, etc. There are a lot of things to be discovered in sunny Crimea! What to bring: Volunteers must bring  their own backpacks, sleeping bags, roll mats,  raincoats, safety boots for hiking on rocky part of mountains, safety gloves to pick up glass, working clothes for painting, caps with peak and sunglasses, sun-protection lotion and mosquito repellent. Olbia - is an antique city on the coast of the sea (Bugsky estuary), by modern settlement Parutino village. Olbia was a significant industrial and trade centre of Greek colonization of the Northern Black Sea Coast. It was founded in VII cent BC and was a slave-holding and democratic republic. From the II cent AD the Roman garrison was billeted in the city. The nomadic hordes of Huns destroyed the city- state Olbia in the end of IV c.  Volunteers will stay at beautiful place on the coast immediately near archeological dig place. Each summer large groups of students, scientists and enthusiasts gather here for archeological digging. It’s carried our under the supervision of National Preserve of Academy of Science of Ukraine and Archeological Scientific Expedition of the Archeological Institute.  This will be the 3rd  year camp. Previous camps were very successful and volunteers made a great contribution to  archeological discoveries: it was our volunteers who made the best find in a season (a vase with fully extant engraving) and the best find from the very first digging day (200 years ago!!!) – the gravestone with clear and fully extant epitaph. Volunteers also prepared a theatre play of Aristophanes and performed it to all digging participants on Olbia debris. We very welcome this year volunteers who can make their contribution to archeological discoveries, in ancient culture riches saving.  The project is organized in partnership with young scientists group from Expedition  of Academy of Science of Ukraine. W: Archeological digging and other connected works. R: No special skills. Everyone interested in archaeology and history studying very welcome. Regional landscape Park Kleban Byk is located in Konstantinovka region, in the south-east of Ukraine. Kleban Byk means "hollow on the water". The territory of the park remarkable for its landscape and interesting geological structure (it includes chalk rocks, petrified trees). Fauna of the park includes 200 bird species, many reptiles and mammals; 600 plants are registered, many of them are included in the Red List. The park was created five years ago, the territory is divided into zones for recreation, reservation, scientific and economic activities, which would improve recovery of flora and fauna of the park. Visitors also leave lots of trash on the territory of the park. Due to lack of funding and limited human resources the staff is facing difficulties to both maintain the territory and further develop the structure of the park. It is planned to conduct cleanup, work on development of infrastructure, and assist park staff with basic research activities. The camp is organized in the framework of "Youth Transcending New Frontiers" project, which is taking place in Ukraine, Moldova, Russia and Belarus. In the project framework volunteer groups are organizing activities on human rights education, social inclusion, racism and xenophobia. During the workcamp it is planned to develop scenarios for sessions on human rights and visual materials, which will be used for study part sessions at the volunteer workcamps, and later for educational activities at schools and universities.  W: preparing and running seminars on human rights issues in volunteer workcamps, developing scenarios and methodology for sessions, designing postcards, bookmarks and other visual materials in interesting manner for further use at schools.  S: information about local history and culture, visits to interesting places of the region.  A: at the students' dormitory (for one week), at the venues of other camps. Summer camp "Vognyk" for children with mental disabilities and difficulties with learning is located in the town of Artemovsk, south-east of Ukraine, Donetsk region. Children who come to "Vognyk" for vacation live in special boarding schools and orphanages, and come for the period of 2-3 weeks to this summer camp. There are about 70 children in the camp, ages from 7 to 13. During the workcamp, it is planned to prepare and organize different free-time activities with children, and assist teachers and tutors in this work. W: organizing free-time activities, games, contests, concerts, sport activities with children. S: information about the region (culture and history), visits to interesting and remarkable places: salt mines, champagne factory, National Nature Park "Svyaty Gory". P: will take place in Mezin National park, which was created in 2006. The territory of the park is 31035,2 ha, it is situated in the Northern part of Ukraine. There is The Mezyn paleolith settlement (the settlement was build 20 thousand years ago!) on the territory of the park. During studies many mammoth bones, as well as ancient pieces of art were excavated in this area. Finding of this settlement are on exhibit in many museums of the world (Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia). There is also an archaeological museum, which was founded by local scientist in 1965 – this is the largest archaeological rural museum in Ukraine (over 50,000 exhibits).  At the moment the museum is located in the former mansion that was constructed without a single nail! This is the project for natural lovers!W: The building of the museum needs exterior and interior renovation. This work will involve local people into the work with international volunteers. P: Historical Architectural Preserve in Zhovkva contains 27 archeological monuments, 49 archeological monuments, 82 historical monuments. Among which the well known Cathedral Ensemble, and Dominicans Monastery in Baroque Style (1653), Zhovkva Castle (1594-1606), the national architect monument, which is to be renovated and used as a cultural and tourist center, Wooden St. Trinity Church (1702). All monuments have great historical value that makes them an object not only of Ukrainian but also a European property.  It is important to urgently study and renovate these historical and cultural relics, until it has been destroyed by time. Project partner: Ogranisation “Chernomor”  (2 int + 12 local) P: Summer center “Mandarin” is situated in a picturesque place in the Western part of Crimea, in Almiyskaya Valley, on the sea side. The camp is surrounded by pine tree forest.  The camp hosts about 150 children at a time. W: There will be 8 creative workshops: astronomy, painting at the stones, clay workshop, constructing and sending up kites, aqua-aerobics, dance classes, fashion agency, theatre and drama, radio-station, and business-club. Volunteers will run or assist during the workshops, organise intercultural exchange activities for kids by involving them into different actions: intercultural evenings, exhibitions, discussions, workshops, concerts, games, sports competition, parties, disco etc. The group is expected to be active all the time and participate in the camp activities done by local staff.Working hours: 6-8 hours a day (depends on the camp programme), 6 working days a week.A: Volunteers will be accommodated indoors (sleeping bags are not necessary). P: Lviv youth centre, Lviv city council.  Lviv city Council runs the project under which the gifted children, who showed notable achievements in different fields during the academic year are rewarded with a free opportunity to spend a couple of weeks in a summer camp during their holidays. Volunteers are welcome to joint one of these camps and bring there international spirit and so to encourage children to further progress in their fields and in English language studying.  It will be English-Ukrainian teaching – studying project for both volunteers and children :) 50 children aged 10-14. Informal teaching in form of games, songs and possibly performance will be beneficial for children who rarely, if at all, visit foreign countries and meet representatives of different cultures. Volunteers will have a chance to share their enthusiasm, knowledge, experience with children, who in their turn will help volunteers to discover Ukrainian culture and traditions.  W: As it is a teaching camp, volunteers are expected to run 2 or 3 lessons per day. It means some time either in the mornings or evenings will be devoted to preparation. There will be breaks between lessons – a good chance to play outdoor games and do various outdoor activities. There is a plan to prepare a performance which can be staged and attended by children’s parents and guests at the end of the camp.  X: Volunteers are expected to be creative with a very good command of English. The camp will be located in Zolochiv, 70 km east from Lviv.  Zolochiv Castle was built as a citadel with bastions in the 1630s. In the 17th - 18th centuries the castle belonged to the rich Polish King families of Sobieski and Radziwill. In the days of Austro-Hungarian empire Zolochiv Castle was turned into a prison and later became a grim prison under Stalin. A memorial and an exhibition to commemorate those who perished here can now be seen in the castle as well as a chapel outside the the castle walls.  Inside Zolochiv Castle visitors could see a newly restored Chinese palace built to follow European fashion for Chinese art in late 17th century. To the right is a larger residential palace undergoing restoration. From the bastions one could see surrounding countryside and the town of Zolochiv. This palace is included in so called "Golden Horseshoe Castles" of Ukraine, as the group of fortresses are located in a sort of an arc stretching east and southeast of Lviv. The castle in Zolochiv is among the 3 best preserved ones.  There are a lot of legends about this castle, which some period of time belonged to Knights Templars, about the single in Ukraine China palace, situated inside the castle, about the underground secret passages where still can be met the  ghost of unhappy King’s wife. Inside the castle everyone can fill the past grandeur of ancient knights, which unfortunately  slowly go to ruins because of luck of  state funds to main this unique memorial.  Volunteers would also be taken to the old magic stone in the castle courtyard. It has engraved inscriptions in unknown language and a hole in the middle that will help fulfil your wishes if you put your finger there and turn. Sunflower cam-P: The project will be organised on the basis of the National Mining University (one of the biggest universities of Dnipropetrovsk) student's camp "GORNYAK" - very popular summer time leisure place among students and graduates. It's situated on the river banks in the middle of pine forest in the Orlovschina village. (Dnipropetrovska oblast, Novomoskovskiy region) with picturesque views of natural reserve. It is 1 hour by bus from the city of Dnipropetrovsk - the biggest city in central Ukraine where Empress Kathryn the Second used to stop on her way to Crimean estates in the Potemkinskiy castle.

Work: Volunteers will create and organise an intercultural exchange activities for students by involving them into different actions: intercultural evenings, exhibitions, discussions, workshops, concerts, games, sports competition, parties, disco etc. The idea of the camp is to involve Ukrainian students into an active intercultural exchange with the group of international volunteers, to extend students outlook with new ideas for unforgettable student summer! The group is expected to be active all the time – one big action per day is to be organized along with other camp activities done by local students.A: in tents. Shower and washing facilities will be available. Food will be provided in the camp canteen. Be ready for simple conditions and food.Leisure time: Camp has different sport facilities such as football field, basketball and volleyball areas, big and table tennis. There is a river next to the camp for sunbathing or swimming. On two week-ends during the workcamp you will have time to visit city of Dnipropetrovsk and to discover its history, culture and night life. What to bring: sleeping bags, roll mats, raincoats, safety boots, caps with peak and sunglasses, sun-protection lotion and mosquito repellent. Boarding School for mentally disabled children is located in Paraskoveyevka village, 5 kilometers away from Artemovsk, southeastern Ukraine. There are about 180 children in the boarding school aged 7-16 years old, among them 20 orphans. Children stay at the boarding school during the whole year and have special education program. During the workcamp it is planned to renovate sleeping rooms and some classrooms, including room for free-time activities and playing. W: helping with renovation of the play-room (painting, wallpapers, cleaning); playing with children.  S: information about the boarding school and children, excursions to the salt mines and local area. Seminar on human rights will be organized by participants of traveling workcamp, who will visit the project.  A: in the boarding school, kitchen and sanitation facilities are in the building. The camp will be held in Berdyansk city on the Azov see. Women from small cities of Ukraine have insufficiently advanced active vital position. The purpose of project is to raise awareness and level of knowledge of young people on gender issues, initiate discussion on roles of male and female in society. This subject does not receive enough attention in Ukraine, and is crucially important due to changes in society and lifestyle, cultural transformation. Target group of this educational project is students of Berdyansk University and senior pupils of secondary schools . The project includes preparation and organization of educational activities at the University, and secondary schools.  W: elaboration and participation to seminars and discussions, preparation and participation to information sessions with creative elements for young people, distribution of informational materials.  S: sessions on intercultural learning and human rights, about history and culture of the region.  A: Volunteers will live in the student hostels on the territory of university (beds and bed clothes are available), kitchen and sanitation facilities are in the house. Volunteers will cook for themselves. Bring a sleeping bag for excursions.
