The aims of this workcamp are, teaching English, have fun (sanuk) together, learn more about each other's cultures and set a good basis for future activities while helping the school children. This camp hopes to improve the local children’s English and this is what the local people are expecting from the volunteers. This workcamp will better their English and also motivate them to learn English, So, in the future this will help them to get better jobs. This workcamp will also help them to expand their horizons by meeting international volunteers. During the work camp you will involve in several activities with the local students of all ages. The camp will consist of two weeks teaching English language to the school children. This program is all about teaching languages! Of course the primary focus is on the English language, but Thai people are also interested in getting an introduction to other foreign languages like French and Japanese. The project will consist of working with local students at schools (we have strong relationships with several primary, secondary, and high schools). The students will be between 7 and 18 years old. This camp takes a non-formal approach to teaching. This means that, when you teach in the school, you will have to conform to the local teaching methods or style, but you will be free to choose your own way of teaching and may bring your own ideas into class. Please understand that your methods for teaching are less important than your attitude towards the students. Also, the subject of the teaching can alter, depending on current projects in the camp and might include, for example, environmental issues. Nobody expects you to teach the students to speak English fluently in two weeks. Everyone involved considers it more important for the children to have personal contact with foreigners and to 'open up' with them. It is expected that the volunteers bring creative ideas for teaching. During free time volunteers will also participate in the free time activities of the local villagers and get to know them. The volunteers learn about the work and daily life of the villagers in this area. After school you may expect visits from neighborhood villages at the camp site or do some activities with the local people such as some game etc.

Remember that the point of the work is primarily a tool to build relationships with one another.  So take time to socialize and let friendships develop.  There is no rush to finish the projects. There will be no outsiders living with us in the camp, so each volunteer will be assigned chores such as garbage duty, cooking, and cleaning up.On the weekend, the group can stay at the camp or decide to go sightseeing. If going out food expenses and transportation cost should be taken care by yourself. There are many different places of interest in Loei e.g. Phu Kradung, Phu Luang and Phu Reua National parks; during your stay you may also visit some lakes and waterfalls. Swimming suits (shirt and shorts) are a must! You will have plenty of free time in the mornings and especially the evenings and weekend.  This time can be used for your personal activities like washing clothes, writing letters or just resting.  Of course it’s also a great time to socialize with your fellow volunteers and the villagers. In the evenings there will be ample time for discussions, and one popular nighttime activity is playing music around a campfire.  This is always popular with the locals, as Thai people love to sing and dance.  In this camp, as in all camps, alcohol use is forbidden.  Smoking is not encouraged, because we want our volunteers set a positive example for the local youth.
