ElsRf01-02 El Salvador ANYTIME YEAR ROUND TEACH/KIDS/MEDICAL 2 V. Ages 18+

Placement is year round for any length of time and DIRECTLY with The Hilda Rothschild Foundation

which is dedicated to developing locally-run education, health, and business projects in poor communities in El Salvador. It's goal is to give women control over these projects in order that they achieve their educational and financial goals. Our project in Joya Grande, El Salvador, (located just outside San Salvador) currently consists of a preschool, a bakery, a computer center, an after school program, and a health clinic.

Our volunteer requirements are as follows:

1. Previous travel experience.

2. Some Spanish Language ability (although I can also recommend excellent language schools in El Salvador, Guatemala, Costa Rica, etc.

3. A commitment of at least two weeks. Volunteers may stay as long as they like, however. One of your Danish volunteers worked with the program for over a year, (although he lived in San Salvador).

Volunteer work includes:

1. Teaching English in the after school program/ conducting other activities with students in the after school program (general tutoring, organizing games).

2. Teaching computer skills.

3. Assisting in the preschool.

4. Assisting in the bakery.

5. Assisting in the health clinic.

6. Landscaping/ gardening/ construction projects.
