Volunteers will be responsible for organization of leisure time activities for children of different age. L: Ivatsevichi region is famous for its picturesque lakes and rivers. W: The camp is being organized by the LYVS in cooperation with Bobruisk town authorities. Volunteers interested in positively impacting the environment will join in this effort to clean up the Lukovo mount and recreation area located nearby in the nature reserve. Special skills are not required, but the work will be physically demanding. L: Bobruisk is small town which is situated not very far from Minsk, closer to the Russian boarder. A: Youth hostel. Free time: There are a lot of places of interest in Minsk. You can visit museums, theatres, discos. B: Sleeping bags, working clothes, good mood. BlsLyvs03-05  MOGILEV  06-Jul-05  to  27-Jul-05  ENVI  10 V. Ages  18+ Fee:$250.00 

W: The workcamp is organized in cooperation with the Staff of student groups. Mogilev is one of the biggest centers of chemical industry in the Republic of Belarus and it needs your help in the field of Protection of Environment. Volunteers will be busy with cleaning and recreation of the territory of Mogilev's park. Participants do not need any skills, but remember that the work will be physically demanding. Study part: Games and discussions on the topic of Protection of Environment, meetings with local members of ecology service. L: Mogilev, one of the oldest and largest cities in Belarus, is located in the southeast region of the country. It has many ancient and beautiful sites and increasing areas of environmental protection. A: Shared rooms in hostel. Volunteers will cook breakfast and dinner. Lunch is in a canteen. Free time: Outings in Mogilev can include visits to the art gallery, theater and museums. Excursions to Minsk may also be arranged. B: Working clothes and information concerning methods of work on ecological instability in your own country. BlsNg9.1-05  Petrovichi  16-Jul-05  to  30-Jul-05  ARCH/MANUAL  10 V. Ages  18+ Fee:$250.00 Xtra Fee: $50.00 REPORT REFUND: $75.00

The project will take place in the village Petrovichi, Brest region (close to Polish border). The history of inhabitants of this picturesque place is closely connected with history of Gothic tribes. During 1-2 BC centuries they had created a unique "velbar" culture. They managed to create a powerful unite of tribes. Eastern Gothic tribes played the main role in this process of unification. Now it is a place where carry out regular archaeological researches. Scientists and volunteers try to find out all facts from long history of this place. W: Different types of research work connected with "velbar" Gothic culture, you should be ready for hard physical work. S: During the camp the volunteers will visit some historical places and also the center with traditional Belarussian crafts. They will also visit the most well-known places of interest in Brest region. A:  In tents, ecological toilet in forest, you will cook at open fire. L: English. B: Sleeping bag and sleeping mat, gum boots (insect repellent, sun protecting lotion, warm clothes in case of bad weather might be also very useful), your own tents are welcome. Different materials about your country: books, postcards, tapes, traditional recipes from your country. High spirits and readiness for unexpected situations! BlsNg5.1-05  Belarusian Children's Hopsice  20-Jul-05  to  03-Aug-05  SOCIAL/MEDICAL/KIDS  5 V. Ages  18+ Fee:$250.00 Xtra Fee: $50.00 REPORT REFUND: $75.00

The project will take place in the village Podleskovie, a picturesque place in the Western part of Belarus (Minsk region). Belarusian Children's Hospice owns  a set of houses there to provide rest and rehabilitation to its patients, families and staff. W: We are looking for volunteers, who are interested in working closely with children on Hospice's 2005 Summer programme. During the workcamp volunteers will be involved in activities with children, who has cancer (10-15 years old). We will be glad to accept volunteers - who have special education for psychological and social work with children; but camp is open for everybody. S: some practical training under the supervision of the Head of the psycho-social department. L: English and Russian. A: A separate building for volunteers (provides living for 8 people simultaneously). X: Initiation, creativity, readiness to give happiness to ill and bereaved children, siblings and to feel satisfaction on doing this. W: The workcamp is organized in cooperation with the Minsk boarding school No 1 for orphans. There are about 150 children of age from 7 to 15. Volunteers will be busy with reconstruction, cleaning, painting of some rooms in the school and also organization of leisure time activities for children. L: The workcamp will take place in Minsk, which is a capital of Belarus. There are about 2 millions of inhabitants in Minsk. Boarding school is situated in the suburbs of Minsk, but volunteer will have an easy access to the center. There are many ancient and beautiful sites in the city. A: in the building of boarding school. Free time: There are a lot of places of interest in Minsk. You can visit museums, theatres, discos. B: Sleeping bags, working clothes, good mood. Volunteers will be busy with cleaning and recreation of the territory of the camp and surroundings. Participants do not need any skills, but remember that the work will be physically demanding. L: Miadel region is famous for its picturesque lake "Naroch", one of the biggest lakes in Belarus. It has many ancient and beautiful sites and increasing areas of environmental protection. A: tents, showers and toilet are available on the territory of the camp. Free time: Excursion to Minsk can include visits to the art gallery, theater and museums. B: Working clothes and information concerning methods of work on ecological instability in your own country. W: This workcamp is being organized with the local town authorities and local volunteers who are interested in renovation work. Volunteers will help with renovation of an old castle of 18 century. Work will include different renovation activities such as painting, rubbish removing and so on. Special skills are not required. L: Shuchin, one of the oldest and largest cities in Belarus, is located in the northwest region of the country. It has many ancient and beautiful sites and places of interest. A: Shared rooms in hostel. Volunteers will cook breakfast and dinner. Food products provided. Vegetarian diets can be accommodated. Free time: Different leisure and water activities, visits of places of interests. B: Sleeping bags, working clothes and gloves. It is also useful and enriching for everyone if you bring along information about the history of your own country. W: Volunteers will participate in a camp with 15-20 local vols which will acquaint young people from different countries with the national cultural heritage of Belarus. This camp will expose the children of the Mogilev Art School to the art of different countries. By working together with artists from around the world, the children will not only share & expand their own knowledge, but they will be helping disabled children and orphans. At the end of the camp, the young artists' work will be given to meet the needs of disabled children. Volunteers will also be able to experience working in the traditional and manual Belarussian crafts personally. Different types of projects will be offered depending on the skills of the volunteers. L: Mogilev, one of the oldest and largest cities in Belarus, is located in the southeast region of the country. BlsLyvs02-05  MOGILEV  26-Jul-05  to  12-Aug-05  SOCIAL/DISABLED/KIDS  5 V. Ages  18+ Fee:$250.00 

W: The camp is arranged by the League of Youth Voluntary Service and The staff of students group in cooperation with the medical-social rehabilitative center for disabled children. This workcamp will take place in the rehabilitative center built in Mogilev during 1994. Today this center cares for about 100 children under the age of 16. Approximately 40 of them have mobility problems. We expect 20 disabled children to take part in the camp. Volunteers will participate in the rehabilitation of disabled children including teaching them the necessary skills which can help in their everyday life. Volunteers will organize leisure time for children, carry out sports and therapeutic physical exercises, games and talks. You will also be needed to help with feeding and lifting children. L:  Mogilev, one of the oldest and largest cities in Belarus, is located in the southeast region of the country. It has many ancient and beautiful sites and increasing areas of environmental protection. A: Shared rooms in hostel. Volunteers will cook breakfast and dinner. Lunch is in a canteen. Burial mounds were found at the end of I -  beginning ?? millenniums of our era. Burial mounds were made by mixed Slavic - baltic tribes (carriers of culture smolensko - polockich long burial mounds). In separate burying are met subjects of the scandinavian origin that be s indicative of the presence in the composition of population of region of pranks from Scandinavia. W: To be announced. S: During the camp the volunteers will visit some historical places: Braslav city (was found 1065), archeological and architectural monuments. They will also visit the most well-known places of Braslav region. Probably, organizing & celebrating " Day of Archeology ", to make food by ancient recipes, to make some traditional Belarussian ceramic belongings and etc. A: In tents near the lake on the territory of National park "Braslavskie Ozera".
