AUSTEJA is non-government, non-profit making organisation for voluntary service. It was established in 1991 and legally registered in Lithuania.
AUSTEJA promotes, organises and co-ordinates voluntary and training activities for young people in the social, environmental fields. The basic goal of our work is to promote the ideas of voluntary service within Lithuania. AUSTEJA also aims to spread and support ideas and practice of intercultural understanding and learning. AUSTEJA seeks to contribute to solution of social, ecological problems in the country.
The way AUSTEJA achieves its goals is organizing voluntary short and long-term projects, and youth exchanges. Short-term projects are workcamps, which AUSTEJA organises in Lithuania.
Long-term projects last from 3 up till 12 months, and they organized in co-operation with various partner organizations in Europe. AUSTEJA offers possibilities for young people to join projects in social or environmental fields abroad. AUSTEJA also works with long-term voluntary projects in the frame of YOUTH programme - EVS.
