The 2010 Project Directory

553 Projects Available

UPDATED February 6th

MOST OF THE PROJECTS ARE NOT FINALIZED ABROAD AND POSTED ONLINE UNTIL MID-MARCH.

Welcome to the world of international voluntary service! VFP offers over 3000 projects each year worldwide! 80% of these projects occur during the summer months.  We do offer a smaller number of projects in the "off-season" (October - April) mainly in the developing world. You can view the 2010 OPEN PROJECT DIRECTORY and register for projects.

If you are not familiar with how to read the project descriptions, you can find a guide here.

Projects are similar from year to year. You can get and idea of what will be offered in 2010 and beyond by searching the 2009 IVS ARCHIVE Project Directory. This version of the Directory list ALL projects from 2009.

2010 Open Project Searchable Directory lets you select specific fields such as country/ies, date range, camp type/s, term or service or keyword/s to assist your searching. This version of the Directory is updated almost daily and shows only projects that are currently OPEN.

2009 Projects ARCHIVE Searchable Directory has search features as well, but lists ALL 3170+ projects for 2009.

US Projects

Search for projects in the US just as you would in another country. Search the 2010 Open Projects Directory by entering the dates, country (USA) and project type just as you would for an international project. Note: 2 to 3 week USA projects run June to September while some USA medium-term projects (MTV) are available year-round.

"During our last few days, exhausted by teaching, my sister decided to help me out with the mural. The school also brought in a local temple painter named Desh, who was very patient, and had the best attitude when it came to all my requests. On our last day at the school, I completed the giant butterfly that loomed over the pond."

Alex Donis ~ Sri Lanka ~ 2008
