Volunteer Voices

I participated in the MultiKulti camp in Reykjavik, Iceland through Worldwide Friends. This was my second year volunteering in Iceland through this organization and I cannot express my satisfaction with the experiences they have given me. The work consisted of assembling a short play about world cultures for preschool children. We performed for four different schools and each time we were very well received. All the participants learned a lot about each others cultures through writing and performing the play. The accommodation was very comfortable, the host was warm and welcoming, and the country was absolutely beautiful. I actually extended my stay in Iceland 6 more weeks because of how quickly I fell in love with the people and the country. I highly recommend Worldwide Friends, especially to first time international volunteers because they are welcoming and the work is straightforward and rewarding. I also highly recommend Volunteers for Peace because they provide clear information and are more than happy to answer any questions promptly and entirely.”
